Warts Explained: Causes, Types and Safe Care Tips (Plus How Wartfall Kit Is Used)

Warts are small, rough growths on the skin that many people deal with at some point. They are usually harmless, but they can be stubborn, unsightly and, at times, uncomfortable. This guide explains what warts are, how they spread, what to avoid, and where a home-care kit like Wartfall can fit into your routine.

What are warts?

Warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). The virus enters through tiny cuts or breaks in the skin and makes the top layer of skin grow faster than normal, which creates the raised, rough bump. Warts are contagious, but they do not spread as easily as a cold. They usually need direct skin contact, or contact with a contaminated surface such as a damp floor or a shared towel.

Common types of warts

  • Common warts: rough, raised bumps, often on the fingers, hands, elbows and knees.
  • Plantar warts: found on the soles of the feet; they can feel like a small stone under the skin while walking.
  • Flat warts: small, smooth and slightly raised; they often appear in groups on the face, neck or legs.
  • Filiform warts: thin, thread-like growths, usually around the face and neck.
Good to know: many warts disappear on their own over months or even a couple of years, but this is unpredictable. Some persist, spread or return, which is why people look for treatment.

How to avoid spreading warts

  • Do not pick, scratch, bite or cut a wart. It can spread the virus to nearby skin and cause infection or scarring.
  • Keep the area clean and dry, and wash your hands after touching it.
  • Do not share towels, razors, nail clippers or footwear.
  • Wear slippers in public bathrooms, gyms and swimming areas.
  • Avoid shaving over a wart.

When to see a doctor first

Home care is not suitable for every wart. Please consult a doctor if:

  • the growth is on your face, near the eyes or in the genital area;
  • it bleeds, hurts, changes colour or shape, or you are not sure it is a wart;
  • you have many warts, or they are spreading quickly;
  • you have diabetes, poor circulation or a weak immune system;
  • you want to treat a young child.

Where Wartfall Kit fits in

Wartfall Kit by Valtin Herbal is a 5 gm wart removal treatment kit that combines two products: Wartfall LEP, a dense liquid applied directly on the wart, and Wartfall Cream, a herbal cream used on the affected area. The cream contains ingredients such as Ghritkumari (aloe vera), Neem oil, Karanj oil and Shwet Chandan (sandalwood).

How to use Wartfall Kit

  1. Do not shake the Wartfall LEP bottle.
  2. Apply a layer of the dense liquid on the head of the wart until it dries off.
  3. Gently massage Wartfall Cream on the affected area in a circular motion.
  4. Read the leaflet provided inside the pack carefully before use.

As with any topical product, keep it away from your eyes, avoid applying it on healthy skin, and stop use and consult a doctor if you notice severe irritation. Results vary from person to person, and warts can take time to respond, so consistency and patience matter.

Frequently asked questions

Are warts contagious?

Yes. HPV can spread through direct contact and shared items. Covering the wart and keeping personal items separate lowers the risk.

Can I use Wartfall Kit on facial warts?

Warts on the face, near the eyes or in the genital area should be examined by a doctor before you use any home treatment.

Can warts come back?

They can, because the virus may remain in the skin. Good hygiene, not picking at the wart, and healthy habits such as a balanced diet and enough sleep can help.
